Setup
Attach a straight bar or handle to the low pulley of a cable machine. Stand facing the machine with an underhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart.
How to perform
- Keeping your elbows pinned to your sides, curl the bar up towards your chest.
- Squeeze the biceps at the top.
- Slowly lower the bar back to the starting position.
Form cues
- Keep your upper body still.
- Only your forearms should move.
- Control the eccentric phase (the lowering).
Common mistakes
- Swinging the torso to create momentum.
- Letting the elbows flare out or drift forward.
- Dropping the weight instead of controlling the descent.
