Setup

Set two pulleys to chest height. Stand in the middle of the machine, grabbing the handles with an overhand grip. Take a step forward to create tension.

How to perform

  1. With a slight bend in the elbows, bring your hands together in a wide arc in front of your body.
  2. Squeeze your chest at the peak of the contraction.
  3. Slowly reverse the motion, returning to the starting position.

  • Keep your chest up and shoulders back.
  • Maintain a stable torso.
  • Imagine hugging a large tree.

Common mistakes

  • Bending the elbows excessively, turning it into a press.
  • Using momentum to swing the weight.
