Setup
Set two pulleys to chest height. Stand in the middle of the machine, grabbing the handles with an overhand grip. Take a step forward to create tension.
How to perform
- With a slight bend in the elbows, bring your hands together in a wide arc in front of your body.
- Squeeze your chest at the peak of the contraction.
- Slowly reverse the motion, returning to the starting position.
Form cues
- Keep your chest up and shoulders back.
- Maintain a stable torso.
- Imagine hugging a large tree.
Common mistakes
- Bending the elbows excessively, turning it into a press.
- Using momentum to swing the weight.
- Rounding the shoulders and back.
