Setup

Adjust the backrest so your knees are aligned with the machine's pivot point. Your lower shins should be against the padded lever.

How to perform

  1. Extend your legs to lift the weight until your knees are straight.
  2. Hold the peak contraction for a moment.
  3. Slowly lower the weight back to the starting position.

Form cues

  • Keep your back against the backrest throughout the movement.
  • Avoid using momentum to lift the weight.
  • Control the movement, especially on the way down.

Common mistakes

  • Lifting your hips off the seat.
  • Swinging the weight up too quickly.
  • Not using the full range of motion.
